Sweet Adinda was our exchange student from the NL to Oklahoma, USA. she arrived August 12, 2021. We only knew her 4.5 months, so can only imagine the loss and grief of those who knew her the whole l8 years of life. Our grief is heavy, she touched our lives in so many ways and was such a joy to have in our home. Our deepest sympathies go out to Bert and Anna, her grandmother, Savano and her Uncles/Aunts and Nieces/Nephews (we call cousins). Our sympathies also to all her friends of whom she obviously has so many. While she lived with us, I wanted to cook some favorite American southern foods, like biscuits with gravy and scrambled eggs but she preferred granola and yogurt for breakfast. She did like our chicken fajitas and did eat some Mexican foods. Adinda loved our cat, Billie, and picked her up every night to take to her room. Adinda rode our old mare, Miss Jewel Dude but rode our gelding, Ranger, most every time. She loved to groom and exercise him. One of the first things she said when she arrived at our home was, 'Oh, so much Nature!" Anna and Bert know everything she loved...they taught her to love nature and people. I've never met a more mature, responsible teenager that loved and respected her parents more. I know she loved Savano and send our love and sympathy to him also. Adinda was a profound thinker and weighted others' opinions carefully before making up her own mind. She was bound for greatness on earth, however, it seems she achieved it already and now her soul is eternally with God and forever in our hearts -as long as we each have left on this earth. I hope each of us will consider our mortality and spirituality, making peace with God. No day on earth is promised, only an eternity with God is promised. I pray all the young people who knew and loved Adinda will think on this future. Adinda lived a righteous life, loving life, loving others and loving herself. Greg and I are so grateful that her parents shared her with her a few months. Our thoughts and prayers for all of you. May God Bless the Netherlands.
